What We Do: BeAServant.org exists to provide small organizations with an easy way to organize serving its members and local community.

What We Don't Do: BeAServant.org is NOT:

• An advertising tool. You are not our product, you are our customer. You matter.
• All things to all people. This site may not do everything you want. But we'll try hard. And we like suggestions.

How we keep you safe: We take several steps to protect your information.

• Your account security is protected with high-grade hashes and encryption with password salting, and three-factor cookie authentication to detect stolen login cookies.
• We do not collect much personal information, only what we need to stay in touch with you.
• Your name, address, phone number, organization name, and other potentially useful information are only stored encrypted on our database.
• If you pay us for full services, we do not store your financial information on our website; in fact, we never get it from PayPal in the first place. PayPal simply reports that your payment was confirmed, and we trust their notification.
• Our login page and other features are carefully protected by abuse monitoring. If we see behavior that looks suspicious, we will warn then block the offending visitor. Repeated attempts generally result in an automated permanent ban.

Privacy Policy: Let's keep this simple: We hate spam and malware as much as you do. Trust us, we have to filter out plenty of it ourselves, especially as website operators. With that in mind, we NEVER sell, share, rent or otherwise release your information or email address to anyone for any purpose whatsoever. What little information we do collect is stored in password-protected databases, with additional hashing and encryption on your credentials as appropriate. We do collect a log of all site activity to detect problems and monitor usage, but the logs do not inherently include any personal information.

Cookie Policy: Like most sites, we do use cookies, but only to keep track of your login and a few preferences (for example, which user is requesting the page so that the results can be shown specific to the correct organization). We do NOT track you across the web; we do not store any privacy information in cookies.

Severance: If you request us to remove all your information, we will do so in a timely and permanent fashion. We do back up our database, and those backups will NOT be purged (that would be exceedingly difficult, after all), but if we must do a restore then your information will be removed after that copy is restored. Basically, if you ask us to stop bugging you or forget you, we will. "Do unto others," and all that.

Misuse: At the sole judgement of BeAServant.org owner/operator, any misuse of the BeAServant.org services will result in immediate and permanent termination of your account and loss of any subscription fees with no refunds. Even if you are not a subscriber, we reserve the right to ban any visitor that does what we determine are Bad Things on our site. We will do what we need to keep our users safe. But we don't like bad press, so we won't do that unless you really, really provoke us.
